Construction of a modern single-family home in the 10th district

A strong focus on sustainability

Starting Point

Building a future-oriented wooden house

Energy efficiency meets comfort

Our client planned to build an energy-efficient and environmentally friendly wooden house. The property allowed for an extension to an existing neighboring house, but zoning issues had to be resolved beforehand.

The design had to be modern and functional, while meeting current energy standards. Particular emphasis was placed on a family-friendly design that utilizes the natural beauty of wood to create an inviting and sustainable home for the future.

Implementation

Environmental awareness in modern timber construction

Building a single-family home in eight months

In just eight months of construction, we and our partner companies built an innovative, environmentally friendly timber house in Vienna that sets high standards in sustainability and energy efficiency. The environmentally friendly and aesthetically pleasing modular construction includes frame walls and slab ceilings. Inside, high-quality oak parquet flooring combines with Italian tiles and robust Cumaru floorboards.

Equipped with a 10 kW heat pump, a 10 kWp photovoltaic system, and underfloor heating, the house guarantees year-round comfort. The technical features include electric blinds, KNX (Smart Home) home automation, an alarm system, video surveillance, and lightning protection. The exterior façade, made of wood-fiber insulation boards and silicone resin render, ensures excellent insulation. On the inside, an insulated basement, stainless steel railings, and an oak staircase complete the design. Windows and exterior doors from Bruckner underscore the high quality of this project, which is a prime example of modern, environmentally conscious living.

The reason we chose THON was the trust we had built up and the impression that they were experts who considered wood to be their material. There was a noticeable connection, and the feeling that someone was making the project their own was decisive for us.
